I have made this exact recipe so many times when my granddaughters were little. They loved their chocolate milk! I love that it does not have the “waxy” taste of many commercial brands. All you taste is chocolate. I still remember walking into the kitchen finding my granddaughter tipping up the jar and giving me the “It’s so good” smile!

I love this recipe and have made it probably 10 times in the last 6 months. I always add a teaspoon or so of instant espresso powder in order to deepen the chocolate flavor. It was a notable improvement from the one batch I did without.

This is more than a thin chocolate syrup. It is flavorful and thicker than Hersheys but not quite fudge. The taste is really concentrated and delicious…it was so quick to come together and my husband loved it too!!

In reply to To. It's an optional ingredient, but I like to add it because it makes the sauce more velvety and smooth by adding a tiny bit of richness.
