Hi, Alison! It *may* have--I'm sorry. This recipe works best with gel food coloring (regular, not natural). Another thing to look into is the way you measured your flour. Did you weigh it? If weighing isn't possible, you'd want to use the scoop and level method to spoon flour into your measuring cups, rather than scooping the flour WITH the measuring cup to avoid packing extra flour into the recipe.

Oh no! Mine didn't crinkle. They came out looking like plain chocolate cookies. What could I have done wrong? I used liquid food coloring because the gel I found had red dye in it (the bad kind) and I wanted a natural dye. Did that throw off the dry to liquid ratio?

I don't recommend it for this recipe. Stevia's sweetening properties are different from sugar and you likely won't get that same glossy top to your brownies.

I don’t know how this recipe hasn’t been rated yet! Let me be the first to say, it’s top notch. I’ve made it multiple times, it made a beautiful addition to my Christmas cookie platter. Our local bakery makes red velvet crinkles and my husband said these were 10x better, gluten free or not! I used Cup 4 Cup flour and I also added about 2 cups of white chocolate chips. Thank you for such a great recipe!
